Week 2 - Blog Post

This week I finished writing the treatment for the first act. I'm almost done writing the treatment for the third act. The second act is giving me trouble. I'm trying to figure out the character changes I want Mansa to have. I've also been populating the treatment with scenes and characters Mansa will interact with. I am playing with time, adding characters that weren't there or came later. I'm not adding characters that weren't connected to Mansa though. I really want this to be the best African Epic. Hopefully I can make it that way. I'm trying to add more suspense and elements of mistrust between Mansa and those close to him. I want Mansa to feel as though he can't trust anybody. In some ways Mansa feels as if he's alone in his story and that he's trying to be the best king he can be. He's trying to live up to legend of Sundiata, but he ends up surpassing him.
